Rosemarie Cruz was born and raised in Taos, New Mexico. Her
career as a legal assistant began 13 years ago when a civil attorney named Mary Ellen Duprel who offered her an on the job
training position. After her employment with Ms. Duprel she worked with civil attorneys; Crollet &
McDowell and Herrera Law Firm P.C. During her employment at the Herrera Law Firm P.C., she was assigned
legal assistant to Alan Maestas whose case load was primarily criminal. Mr. Maestas taught her all she
knows about criminal work. After her employment with the Herrera Firm P.C., she followed Mr. Maestas to
work with him in private practice, where she remains his legal assistant.
